Complete the following steps to register for the 2023-2024 season.

• Step 1: You will need a copy of your Act 33 and Act 34 clearances to complete your registration process. You will need a digital and paper copy. If your Act 33 and Act 34 clearances are expired, apply for them using the links below. If your clearances are not expired, skip to step 2. You can apply for your Act 33 clearance (Child Abuse) here:https://www.dhs.pa.gov/KeepKidsSafe/Clearances/Pages/PA-Child-Abuse-History-Clearance.aspx You can apply for your Act 34 clearance (Criminal Record)  here: https://www.education.pa.gov/Educators/Clearances/PATCH/Pages/default.aspx 

• Step 2: Register for USA Hockey. CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register as a coach or manager. Be sure to PRINT and SAVE your confirmation code. Record your USA Hockey number on the page in your folder. USA Hockey will take you through what is needed for your SafeSport Training and Background Screen. You may need a copy of your clearances and ID for your background screen.

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information and sign up for participation. Beaver County Ice Sharks adheres to the USA Hockey and Pennsylvania Background requirements to protect the safety of our players.  Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.

Each Volunteer must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2018-2019 Season.  

Adults 18 Years of Age and Older--Go directly to Step 1 below

Volunteer Under 18 Years of Age:

USA Hockey does allow volunteers under 18 years of age to participate.  If you are a current USA Hockey player, you can enter your current USA Hockey confirmation number for the 2017-2018 season.  Skip to step 2 below.

If you are between 13 -18 years of age and are not a current USA Hockey member, you can still volunteer.  Please fill out the USA Hockey Information as a Player in Step 1 below.  You will be considered a "Student Coach" by USA Hockey.

• Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register as an on-ice volunteer. Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s).  Each volunteer must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
• Step 2:  Return to this page.  If you are new to SportsEngine, Create an ID.  If you already have an ID, proceed to Log In.  You can Create an ID and/or Log in by finding a link as you scroll down this page. Your computer may have saved your password so you may already be logged in.  You can check the upper left corner to see if you are already logged in.
• Step 3: Proceed to continue with the application.  During this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code.

VOLUNTEERS 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER, MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:

1) Mid-Am Background Check

• Background Checks are good for 2 years. 
• You must have a USA Hockey number in order to register

2) SAFESPORT

• Register: Registration instructions are at the bottom of that page
• Please print the completion certificate at the end of the module 
• Certification is good for 2 years

3) 10 year Pennsylvania residents and non residents must go through additional background screening processes according the PA state law. There are two sections.  The first is part of the registration where you will be directed to a link to complete.  You will then need to return to the registration to complete your profile.  The second is an email you will receive with a subject PA Child Abuse Clearances.  There is an attachment that will walk you through the steps to complete.
